It’s about time…

What makes our beers distinctive?

Quality ingredients? – Yes.

Experience borne of hard work and experimentation? – Yes.

Time? – Definitely.

Time is the most important factor in producing our beer. Our beer is fermented for 4-7 days before being racked into conditioning tanks. Here, the ‘green’ beer matures for a further 7-10 days.

Finally, it spends a minimum of 4 weeks in the bottle, maturing and developing further complexity before we allow it out of the brewery.

Isn’t it about time that you treated yourself to your local premium ale?

After all, all good things come to those who wait.

Our Beers

Macbeth 4.2%

Brewed in the heart of Aberdeenshire, over the hill from the site of Macbeth’s final stand, this ale celebrates the reign of one of Scotland’s most misrepresented monarchs.

Unlike Shakespeare’s tragic hero, he was a successful king who ruled for seventeen years. He was killed in battle against Malcolm Canmore, and is reputedly buried at Lumphanan.

Tasting Notes – a golden, hoppy IPA style beer, with citrus and floral notes.

Brude 3.5%

Brewed in the heart of Pictland, this beer celebrates one of the most important figures in British history.

Brude is the name given to a number of Pictish kings. The most famous, Brude mac Bili, led the Picts to victory against the Angles at Nechtansmere in 685. A stone in Aberlemno churchyard commemorates the victory.

Tasting Notes – a fruity session bitter, brewed with Alford oatmeal.

Macbeth gets "Real Ale in a Bottle"
Our signature bottle conditioned ale has been awarded the status of "Real Ale in a Bottle" by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale. This will allow us to add CAMRA's RAIB logo to future bottling runs, thus raising the consumer's awareness that our beer is the next best thing to a pint of real ale from the pub.
